Waitrose, Willerby Waitrose Refurbishment
Shopping Park, Refurbishment Project
As part of the Waitrose Refurbishment Programme, SMR Architects were appointed to deliver full architectural services across RIBA Stages 0–7 for the Willerby Shopping Park branch.
The project involved a comprehensive upgrade to enhance the customer experience. Key improvements included the introduction of a sushi bar, modernisation of the meat, fish, and bakery departments, and the addition of a dedicated John Lewis section.
The in-store café was rebranded as The Waite & Rose Café, honouring the founders of Waitrose, Wallace Waite and Arthur Rose. Notably, this location became the first Waitrose store to feature a Changing Places facility, supporting accessibility for all customers.
