Herriot Hospice
The site is the former Lambert Hospital which was gifted to Herriot Hospice for use as a hospice for the area. The building is within the Thirsk Conservation area and the original building is a Victorian era hospital with various additions that have been added over the years. SMR were commission to design 6 in-patient rooms, day-care, bereavement centre, offices and training room for Herriot who are a local hospice already serving the community within Thirsk. The design had to be completed within the existing building footprint and retain a number of original features from the Victorian hospital.
