Lidl Stockton-On-Tees New Retail Food Store
SMR were appointed by Castlehouse Construction Ltd to assist with the technical and construction stages for a new-build Lidl store. The project required the demolition of an existing brick structure, making way for a new scheme that to exploit the full extent of the site, providing a new food store, customer car parking and a dedicated delivery area.
The scheme looked to incorporate traditional building materials, such as facing-brickwork and render to create an aesthetic that would coincide well with that of the local vernacular.
In terms of sustainability the scheme looked to recycle existing building material, by breaking it down into hardcore to form the base of the new development, taking full advantage of materials sourced from the demolition process.
