SMR’s professional relationships with Lidl Great Britain and their associated Framework Contractor’s continue to grow and forge ahead. Following on from successful Planning Decisions and the development of associated Tender information, in Barton-upon-Humber and Bingley – SMR is delighted to have secured architectural support role(s) for the Construction phases of these two stores.

The proposed Type 1300 Lidl Supermarket in Barton-upon-Humber, was approved in January 2018 and is set to start on site in April 2018, the Supermarket is due to open in Autumn 2018. SMR will be assisting the main contractor Hobson Porter throughout the Construction phase.

Further to the Approval for a Lidl Supermarket in Bingley; SMR is assisting the main contractor Stainforth Construction with the on-site phase, for a new ‘bespoke’ Lidl Supermarket. Stainforth, commenced works in March 2018, with an estimated 40 Week Construction programme, the Lidl Supermarket is also due for opening in Winter 2018.

Separate to the above – teaming up with Caddick Construction, SMR successfully completed their first Type 14 Lidl Supermarket, in Garforth. The supermarket forms part of a larger retail development, known as East Side Retail Park. Lidl, the ‘anchor’ tenant for this site, are set to be joined by 27,400 sq.ft Retail Store, a Family Pub & Restaurant and several medium scale Units. The remainder of the site is set to be completed late 2018.
