A major extension and fit-out project, resulted in a 1,000,000 sqft logistics facility in Warrington. This cutting-edge, robotics enabled Fulfilment Centre provides employment for approx 1,200 people when fully operational. Works included; the installation of two 300,000 sqft mezzanine floors, a 35,000 sqft office extension and full fit-out of the existing offices, the construction of a new 8,000 sqft four storey transport hub, new vertical circulation cores and a full reconfiguration of the site, including providing a 200-space decked car park and major HGV access alterations.

The £50M project fulfilled the End User’s specific brief and design standards, enabling a fully automated operation to be installed by the end user to increase picking efficiency. Each sectional completion was achieved in line with programme and to the clients exacting standards. SMR undertook this fit-out project for ISG Retail, the overall project was delivered on time and on budget, and has been well received by all Stakeholders, the End User teams European Director stated “this was the best project this year.”
