A complex high street ‘insertion’ of a new Tesco Metro over two floors at the foot of a four storey residential block on Kensington High Street.

A former discount clothes store, the refurbishment to food retail provided a number of challenges. The scheme included the intricate addition of conveyors from ground to basement, additional plant and not least a new shop front on this prominent High Street, one of West London’s most popular shopping streets. Working with the local authority and with acoustic engineers, we were able to utilise rear garage space for plant and equipment, whilst dealing sensitively with local residents concerns over the out of hours deliveries etc.

Internally, fixtures and fittings were in line with Tesco’s modern clean look, with a large fresh food offer and full range of luxury convenience products to serve the local demographic.
