We completed a large number of ‘M Local’ convenience stores for Morrisons via two Main Contractors: Mace Group and Longcross Construction.

Our first two ‘M Local’ projects with Mace team were located in Nottingham and ran simultaneously; the two stores were delivered successfully and ahead of the original completion dates. This has lead to a further six completed projects with Mace covering much of the north of England, from Huddersfield to Blackpool. We have also completed some very local stores in Harrogate and Leeds.

Huddersfield saw the conversion of Grade II listed building (food outlet) into a M Local. We worked to sympathetically improve the building internally and externally, resulting in improved structural stability of the existing building, prolonging the building’s lifespan and helping to retain Huddersfield’s historic city centre.

We also completed a numerous M Local stores with Longcross, spanning as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Southend-on-Sea. Projects included the transformation of existing pubs, music shops and car showrooms into convenience food stores. Works typically involve improvements to the existing appearance of the building with new entrances, shop fronts and branding. Internally, walls are added and removed to improve the retail environment.
